Summary:

The Operations Generalist plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bank's back-office processes. This position supports multiple departments by performing a variety of operational tasks, including transaction processing, compliance monitoring, data entry receptionist, and customer service support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process daily transactions, including wire transfers, ACH, deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide operational support to branch staff and customers, addressing inquiries related to accounts, transactions, and general banking operations.
  • Promote excellent customer service and rapport with clients regarding daily transactions, addressing inquiries and problem resolution.
  • Acknowledge/greet customers and ensure their requests are handled accurately and in a timely manner; refer clients to the appropriate banking staff personnel for products and services.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to banking regulations, policies, and procedures during all operational activities.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activities in line with the bank's anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud prevention policies.
  • Maintain and update customer records, transaction logs, and other operational databases.
  • Assist in preparing reports for internal and external audits.
  • Support the implementation of new operational processes, software, and systems.
  • Test and troubleshoot banking systems and report any issues to IT or management.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for most customer interaction including face-to-face office visits in addition to managing multiple phone calls throughout the day for customers needing direct assistance.
  • Route incoming calls and customer requests to appropriate business units through various communication methods to ensure speedy and accurate customer response time.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Comply with all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in banking, operations, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with banking systems and transaction processing preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
