The Portfolio Manager supports the commercial lending team by managing and servicing a portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring credit quality, risk management, and customer relationship support. This role plays a key part in helping the bank maintain strong, community-based business relationships while supporting the growth and profitability of the loan portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for existing commercial clients within an assigned portfolio, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and risk assessments to ensure timely renewals, covenant compliance, and overall credit quality.
- Analyze financial statements, prepare credit memos, and make recommendations for loan renewals, modifications, and reviews.
- Work closely with Commercial Lenders to support new business opportunities, including preparing term sheets and gathering necessary documentation.
- Monitor ongoing performance of loans including past due payments, overdrafts, and changes in borrower condition or industry.
- Identify and escalate any credit or compliance issues to senior management.
- Partner with credit analysts and loan operations to ensure smooth documentation, booking, and servicing of loans.
- Support the bank's commitment to the local community by participating in business and civic activities as appropriate.
- Comply with all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of commercial loan structures, underwriting, and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and banking software systems.
