Job Description

As the Senior Director of Brand Marketing, you will manage the development, implementation, and execution of our comprehensive brand positioning and communication strategy for our Doors product lines. Managing a team of talented marketers, you will shape the perception and identity of our iconic brands, ensuring consistency, relevance, and engagement across all touchpoints. You will drive interest and demand for our brands' products and services which include Therma-Tru Doors, Fypon millwork, and Larson storm doors.

You will be reporting to the VP of Brand and Brand Execution- Outdoors.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and over (15) years of experience managing and developing strategies for multiple brands in the building materials industry while managing a team. Extensive experience in brand marketing, preferably from an external agency, with a proven track record of executing and elevating brand campaigns is essential. You should have a deep knowledge of brand building and KPI management within corporate manufacturing and building materials sectors. Experience in retail, demonstrating an understanding of consumer and customer dynamics, and the ability to manage multiple brands simultaneously, is highly beneficial.

This role is designated as hybrid which includes working at 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) out of one of our Fortune Brands hub locations (North Olmsted, OH; Maumee, OH).

What you will be doing:

  • Manage the development of comprehensive brand strategies that define the overarching positioning, messaging, and communication approach for each brand within the Door portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional COE and Commercial teams, including channel marketing, product development, sales, digital marketing, CMIA, brand execution and PR, to ensure alignment and integration of brand marketing initiatives with overall business goals.
  • Engage with external partners/vendors and oversee the relationship management of key content development projects. Ensure that the creative direction given to agencies aligns with the brand message.
  • Clearly articulate our primary and secondary target audience and measure performance against established KPIs and benchmarks according to long-term brand and product goals upon which communication campaigns will be evaluated.
  • Establish and maintain brand and content standards to ensure consistency and coherence across all brand touchpoints, including marketing materials, packaging, and digital platforms.
  • Oversee the conceptualization, development, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns and content strategies for each brand within the Door portfolio that effectively communicate brand messages that resonate with target audiences.
  • Consistently bring fresh, innovative ideas for how Outdoors addresses business goals and engages target audiences.
  • Inspire and guide a team of brand marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Utilize consumer insights, market research, and analysis to inform brand strategy and campaign development, ensuring alignment with consumer preferences and market trends.
  • Drive team performance and development through effective goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and professional growth opportunities, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and business goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Brand Communications to optimize overall annual spend for paid, earned and owned media.
  • Achieve financial goals by preparing and managing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is Marketing, Brand Management, or Communications.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience; experience must include managing a multi-dimensional strategy across functions including internal stakeholders/partners, events, influencers and consumers/customers.
  • Experience must include at least 5 years of experience managing a team.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and brand-building
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals
