Job Description:
The Program Manager of Medical Student Research is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and organizational enhancement in the research opportunities for medical students. This role involves the creation and administration of a medical student research program (scholarly pathways), facilitating student-faculty collaborations, and working in close collaboration with the Directors of the Medical Student Research Curriculum to integrate research as a core component of the medical school curriculum. The program manager will also be expected to support the Biomedical Research Society composed of M1-M4 medical students to enhance accessibility to research opportunities.
The program manager will be expected to collaborate and coordinate with Department-specific individuals tasked with connecting students to projects. Furthermore, the DMSR is expected to collaborate closely with the Director of the Jacobson Center for Clinical and Translational Research (JCCTR) to. The DMSR will be responsible for assisting with and maintaining compliance with LCME Standard 7.3 Scientific Method/Clinical/Translational Research in collaboration with the Directors of the Medical Student Research Curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in science-related field required OR a bachelor’s degree with five plus (5+) years of applicable experience in lieu of higher education – Preferably with knowledge of the following:
IRB requirements and preparation
regulatory compliance
publication of manuscripts
presentation at meetings/conferences
Excellent management and supervision skills
