Job Description:
The Student Recruiting Associate is responsible for being the “face of the College of Law” at recruiting events across the country. The SRA will travel to career and graduate school fairs, Law School Caravans and other recruiting events, promoting The University of Toledo College of Law. In addition to existing events, the SRA is responsible for scheduling campus visits to as many undergraduate institutions as possible during his/her tenure at The College of Law. While attending events and visiting campuses, the SRA must be prepared to answer questions regarding the specific College of Law curriculum, faculty, building and community environment. As a face of the program, the SRA must be positive, friendly, outgoing, and professional and must provide potential students with information useful in choosing their law school. The SRA must be prepared to answer questions specific to their individual experiences as a student in The University of Toledo College of Law program and should not be afraid to draw on personal experiences to encourage students to apply.
In addition to reporting to the Assistant Dean and Assistant Director of Admissions, the SRA reports to the Dean of the College of Law and the Associate Dean. The SRA gives work direction to the Admissions Analyst for the Law Admissions Office regarding shipment and preparation of recruiting materials.
Working Conditions:
The SRA will work in a professional office environment with possible high stress levels during orientation period. A significant amount of travel (plane, train and automobile) is required. The SRA is expected to be available to work some weekends, as many Law Day Fairs occur on weekends. Much of the SRA’s work will be done off-site, at other undergraduate institutions and fair locations. The SRA needs to be able to lift and manage recruiting materials, weighing approximately 30 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelors degree and graduate course work
Communication and other skills:
• Superior oral communication;
• Ability to multitask and keep track of multiple appointments per day;
• Good organizational skills;
• Positive demeanor and approachability coupled with a professional appearance;
• Must have valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate
• Taken or planning to take within the next six months, a bar examination in one of the 50 United States;
• A University of Toledo College of Law graduate
