Job Description:

The Program Coordinator, Student Field Experience, promotes the mission of the University of Toledo through experiential learning opportunities for all students in the Judith Herb College of Education. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining external relationships with area schools. The ideal candidate must be capable of working extensively with students, faculty members, college administrators, PK-12 educators and schools/agency administrators.

The Program Coordinator establishes professional relationships and partnerships with principals and stakeholders in order to impact positive public relations for UT’s JHCOE, collaborates with district school personnel and teachers to facilitate quality field placements, monitors field supervisors regarding JHCOE field placement policies and procedures, plans and implements professional development for student teachers and develops, implements and monitors intervention plans for students who are struggling in field placements. This position is responsible for all placement for each licensure candidate, initiating and maintaining relationships with over 185 area schools, training and monitoring Field Supervisors, as well as assigning caseloads.

The Program Coordinator works closely to support the work of others in the college. This includes the Director of Assessment and Accreditation and the Department Chairpersons. This position reports directly to the Dean of the Judith Herb College of Education.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s degree in field relating to teaching or teaching preparation
• Teaching experience
• 1-3 years of work experience with individuals who have diverse learning styles

Communication and other skills:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Creative problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent organizational talents
• Ability to prioritize tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory experience, preferred
