Job Description:

The Special Events Paramedic provides advanced emergency medical care to individuals during special events at the University of Toledo, ensuring the health and safety of participants, staff, and attendees. This role requires the paramedic to be vigilant, proactive, and ready to respond to any medical emergencies that may arise during events such as concerts, sports games, festivals, and corporate gatherings.
This is an at-will position, meaning the employment relationship can be terminated at any time by either the employee or the employer for any reason, with or without cause or notice. The position is also subject to immediate dismissal if deemed appropriate by the employer.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Current certification as a Paramedic (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians or equivalent state of Ohio certification).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current or previous State of Ohio FF2 certification.
- State of Ohio Fire inspector or Fire Safety Inspector (preferred but not required)
- ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
- Experience working in high-stress environments and managing multiple medical emergencies simultaneously.
- At time of hiring, must also be employed with a 911 response FD or EMS provider within Lucas County. Continued employment is not required, but must be approved by the UTEMS and PD command staff.


Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum of [2] years of experience as a paramedic, with experience in event medicine preferred.
