Job Description:

The Department of Music seeks a dynamic faculty member with a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and with excellent teaching and performance skills, to serve as Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano Performance and Music Technology. Primary position responsibilities include teaching applied classical piano, courses in piano literature and pedagogy, and undergraduate courses in Music Technology.

The start date for this position is August 19, 2024. Reviews begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Music
• Ability to teach applied classical piano at undergraduate and graduate level; teach additional piano courses, such as Piano Pedagogy, Keyboard Literature, etc., and/or oversee accompanying assignments; and develop and sustain strong relationships with the local/regional/national piano community.
• Ability to teach courses in Music Technology, such as Intro to Music Tech, Recording Techniques, etc.; coordinate/manage student recording staff for on-campus events and live streaming; and coordinate student internships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate in music; ABD considered.
• Experience mentoring first generation and underrepresented minority students.
• Successful teaching/performance experience at the College/University level.
