Toledo Clinic's Endocrinology Department is seeking a full-time Office LPN or Credentialed Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and clerical support in a busy medical office. The hours are M-TH (8-4:30) with an occasional Friday when needed. There are no late evenings, weekends or holidays and employee benefits are offered. Previous experience in a medical office is preferred and qualified candidates will have an active OH LPN license or a current MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA).

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistant will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary:
Assist provider(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for provider, and performs various clerical duties.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assist provider with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
  2. Escorting patients to exam room.
  3. Preparing exam rooms.
  4. Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
  5. Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
  6. Administering injections.
  7. At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
  8. Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
  9. Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
  10. Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

Education:

  • Practical Nursing education and Current State LPN licensure required or MA Credential.

Preferred:

  • Previous MA/LPN experience in a medical office helpful.
