Toledo Clinic's Dermatology Department, located on Secor Rd in Toledo, is seeking a full-time Lead Medical Assistant. This position requires an MA certification along with an MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA). Previous experience in a Dermatology office along with leadership experience is strongly preferred. The hours are Monday-Thursday (7:00a-4:30p).
Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary:
Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), performs various clerical duties and coordinate the work of the Medical Assistant staff.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1) Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
2) Escorting patients to exam room.
3) Preparing exam rooms.
4) Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
5) Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
6) At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
7) Maintain Medical Assistant staff schedules for the office
8) Coordinate the workflow of the Medical Assisting staff
9) Facilitate training for new hire MA’s.
10) Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
11) Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
12) Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
13) Administering injections.
14) Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- RMA, CMA, CCMA credential required.
- Previous experience in a Lead or Supervisory position
Education:
-Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.
Preferred:
- 3 or more years of clinical medical assisting experience preferred.
- Previous Dermatology experience strongly preferred.
