General Summary

Responsible for the daily operations of the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems and AbbaDox Radiology Information System (PACS and RIS).

Reports to the Director of Radiology.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining, managing, and troubleshooting the PACS/ RIS equipment.
  • Managing and implementing the storage of all received digital images.
  • Developing and planning strategies, and providing technical support.
  • Training end users and designing programs to improve management of the system.
  • Install, configure and administer the connection of modalities in the existing network.
  • Responsible for the administration of user profiles.
  • Manage supplier relationships and maintaining technology.
  • Collaborate with the IT infrastructure team to communicate storage and computer needs for the PACS/RIS application.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Required:

  • Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
  • Completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
  • Holds a valid state Ohio Radiologic License issued by the Ohio Department of Health.
  • Holds current certification as a Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Master the basics of medical technology.
  • Knowledge of the HL7 / DICOM standards in theory and practice.
  • Basic IT knowledge, such as understanding servers, databases, interfaces, and creation of queries.
  • Understanding of diagnostic images and workflows with Electronic Health Record and Radiology Information Systems.
  • Basic knowledge of current server operating systems, virtual environments and networks.
  • Structured and independent way of working.
  • Experience with Imaging Informatics.
  • Seeks additional appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • BLS or CPR certification.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in Radiology.
  • Experience using the Infinitt PACS and Abbadox RIS systems.
  • Ability to extract, analyze and report data.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
