Toledo Clinic's Urology Department is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist/Scheduler to provide front office support in a busy medical office. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in a medical office answering patient calls, scheduling patient appointments/testing, checking patients in and out, and have experience using an EMR system.
The hours for this position are M-F (8:30-5:00). The office is located in Bowling Green Ohio. Employee benefits are offered. No weekends or holidays!!
General Summary:
Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
- Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
- Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
- Updating insurance information.
- Answering general patient questions.
- Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel.
- Collecting co-pays.
- Check patients in and check patient out. Schedule follow up testing as needed.
- Preparing and cleaning exam rooms.
- Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Education:
- HS diploma or GED.
Required:
- Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills required.
- Computer skills helpful.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Preferred:
- Previous clerical experience in a medical office strongly preferred.
- Medical related coursework.
