Toledo Clinic's Rheumatology Department, Arthritis Associates, located on Woodley Rd is Toledo is seeking a Registered (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA) to provide clinical support in a fast paced office. This position is full-time and will be scheduled M/T/TH (7:45am-5:00pm), W (7:45am - 4:00pm), and F (7:45am - 1:00pm). Also being considered are Certified Patient Care Techs (CPCT/A) and licensed LPNs.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants and Certified Patient Care Techs. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants/Certified Patient Care Techs will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary:

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties.
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Example of Essential Duties:

1) Assist Drs. with patient care. (Calling patients with test results, relaying messages to/from the physician.)

2) Escorting patients to exam room.

3) Preparing exam rooms.

4) Preparing patient for Drs. (histories, vitals, etc.).

5) Assist with aspirations/injections.

6) Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.

7) Administering injections.

Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):

8) Various clerical duties (i.e.: faxing orders, referrals, etc.).

9) Sterilizing and preparing instruments.

10) Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.

11) Provide patient training and education for medications including self-injectable medications.

12) Submitting prior authorizations for medications and tests.

13) Completing FMLA and disability forms for patients.

14) Laundry

15) Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA) or Patient Care Tech (CPCT/A)
Education:
-Medical Assisting/PCT degree or diploma from an accredited school required.
Preferred:
- Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.
