As a CEI Inspector Aide, you will be responsible for performing basic mathematical calculations and following simple technical instructions. Your duties will be to assist higher-level inspectors performing field surveying and construction layout verification, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include

  • A daily documentation of the contractor's work efforts.
  • Project field book preparation and documentation.
  • Density logbook preparation and documentation.
  • Material sampling and testing.
  • Assisting with preparation of the Final Estimate package.
  • Measure distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout.
  • Observes work in progress to ensure that proper construction procedures are followed and materials used conform to specifications.
  • Obtains and/or prepares material samples for laboratory testing.
  • Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards.
  • Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
  • Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.

What you'll need

  • Must be High School graduate or equivalent
  • Must obtain FDOT Intermediate MOT within the first six months of employment
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly).
