Position Overview:
You will play a key role in the planning, review, design, and execution of municipal and public infrastructure projects. You will work closely with municipal clients, senior leadership, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions that support community development and long-term infrastructure needs.

This opportunity is well-suited for an engineer who has developed strong technical fundamentals, earned their Professional Engineer (PE) license, and is ready to contribute more independently across project delivery, municipal review, construction administration, and client service.

Responsibilities


• Municipal Review & Technical Oversight: Review site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances, engineering standards, and applicable regulations
• Board & Client Representation: Prepare technical review letters, engineering reports, and written recommendations for municipal clients, boards, and internal teams; attend and participate in planning board and zoning board meetings as needed
• Project Design & Delivery: Lead or support the design of municipal infrastructure improvements, including roadway, drainage, stormwater, utility, and site-related projects; prepare or oversee plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical documentation
• Engineering Analysis: Perform and review engineering calculations related to grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility systems, and roadway design, applying sound technical judgment and practical problem-solving
• Construction Administration: Support construction-phase services including submittal review, RFIs, contractor coordination, field observations, change documentation, and resolution of field issues
• Quality Control & Coordination: Conduct quality reviews of engineering documents and coordinate effectively with internal disciplines, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to support successful project delivery and compliance
• Team Support & Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior engineering staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on technical quality, responsiveness, and professional growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
• 5+ years of relevant experience in municipal engineering, civil/site engineering, land development review, public infrastructure, or transportation-related projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required, preferably in New Jersey or with the ability to obtain New Jersey licensure within a reasonable timeframe
• Strong experience in municipal engineering review, infrastructure design, permitting, and construction-phase coordination
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software; experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally to municipal clients, boards, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal team members
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, exercise sound engineering judgment, and contribute effectively in a client-service environment
