Your Primary Responsibilities will include

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and construction plans for transportation projects, including bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous transportation structures
  • Develop conceptual designs and unique construction details for structural elements
  • Generate precise rebar drawings and detailed dimensioning for structural components
  • Serve as the group’s technical lead for software updates, ensuring all design tools are current and functioning optimally
  • Stay at the forefront of industry best practices to implement more efficient workflows and CADD processes
  • Maintain consistent coordination with Project Managers to ensure all deliverables align with project timelines and goals
  • Ensure all work strictly adheres to proper FDOT CADD guidelines, standards, and procedures
  • Manage electronic project files and folder structures in accordance with company and client filing standards

What you'll need

  • Experience using a variety of CADD platforms that may include Open Bridge Modeler, Open Roads Designer, Microstation and/or AutoCAD
  • Ability to assist with development of 3D models using both Open Bridge Modeler and Open Roads Designer
  • Familiarity with plans detailing for FDOT bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous transportation structures is preferred
  • Familiarity with FDOT CADD Manual is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school
  • 3+ years of prior drafting experience for transportation projects; drafting experience for transportation structures is a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience will be evaluated if applicant has a degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field
  • Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field is preferred
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and exhibits
