DRMP's Charlotte, NC office is seeking a Professional Survey & Mapper Department Manager to lead Transportation, Land Development, and Construction projects, leveraging expertise in project and production management, team leadership, and client coordination.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to office and field personnel in the completion of their assignments.
  • Participate in Business Development and Marketing pursuits both in-house and for outside clients.
  • Manage various public and/or private sector clients/projects.
  • Perform yearly evaluations of Project Managers and Field Coordinator.
  • Participate in and provide input for yearly evaluations of party chiefs and technicians.
  • Participate in the weekly department production meeting
  • Prepare or assist in preparing scopes, fees, manhours, and proposals for public and private sector clients.
  • Approve all proposals before submittal to the client.
Administrative/Management:
  • Assist with business planning and budgeting
  • Review and submit client invoices
  • Review department time sheets
  • Hire staff and conduct performance reviews
  • Coordinate project production and QA/QC reviews
  • Manage project budgets and schedules
  • Provide adequate training opportunities for staff
  • Maintain staff certifications
Technical:
  • Ensure all work meets/exceeds standards of practice of the profession
  • Check for full compliance with contractual obligations and client preferences
  • Perform field reviews and QA/QC reviews
  • Conduct project research and analysis
  • Assist staff with technical development
  • Prepare legal descriptions and CADD drawings
  • Marketing/Business Development:
  • Prepare project proposals and staff hour estimates
  • Develop marketing leads
  • Prepare write-ups at project completion
  • Establish and maintain client relationships
  • Represent DRMP within professional societies and at industry event
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Business Development efforts for Survey in the public and private sector to establish a diverse client base for the firm.
  • Participate in local professional organizations, such as ACEC, ASHE, and NCSS. This includes attending lunches, meetings and other conferences to increase DRMP’s marketing network. DRMP will reimburse expenses associated with attending these professional organizations.
  • Market and research upcoming projects, including identifying projects and creating a Marketing Target list.
  • Work with and support DRMP’s Geomatics and engineering staff to aid in expanding our services throughout the Charlotte region.
  • Specific goals would consist of establishing Backlog to start and maintain field and office staff locally.

What you'll need

  • Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PLS)
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history.
  • Successful history of project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge of CADD systems; including MicroStation, ORD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
