CPH is seeking a senior-level PE for a Senior Project Engineer opportunity in Water/Wastewater with our dynamic and collaborative team at our Orlando-Robinson location!

Hiring bonus of up to $10,000 for selected candidate!

The Senior Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater is responsible for directing the engineering design team in a variety of Water/Wastewater and general public facility projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion. This role involves coordinating the efforts of the engineering team, contractors, and project managers to achieve project goals efficiently. The Senior Project Engineer will ensure all aspect of the project design, from planning to final delivery are met within budget and meeting the required quality standards.

Duties Include:

  • Lead/ manage the planning, design, and production of lift station, pipeline and/or Water/Wastewater treatment systems, overseeing others, providing Project Managers with scopes, ensuring alignment with goals, schedules, and budget.
  • Uses team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development following CPH and client’s standards and templates.
  • Directs development of an action plan and estimates requirements for resources management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
  • Development of deliverables including plans, design reports and technical specifications.
  • Supervision of junior engineers in evaluation of shop drawings, and oversight of construction administration duties as the Engineer of Record.
  • Monitors progress of development project and compares actual costs with estimates.
  • Prepares monthly reports, detailing progress, and costs for next level management.
  • Works with Project Managers to develop scope and manhour estimates for various projects.
  • Reviews and studies existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Periodic travel to perform business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation. Duty includes preparation or review of subsequent reports and exhibits.
  • Cooperates with other project engineers from other plants to share similar problems and solutions.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external clients.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software’s platforms.
  • Ability to effectively lead and inspire a team.
  • Comfortable working and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of codes and design and construction practices.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of Florida.
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm with 2+ years with an active P.E. license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management and industry standards as it relates to pipeline, lift station, and/or Water/Wastewater facility design.

  • This position is in a professional office environment. The person in this role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, and filing cabinets. Overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
