DRMP Inc. is seeking an Employee Health & Safety Manager that will oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures. This individual will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and champion a culture of safety throughout the organization. This individual will also assist with the implementation of EHS initiatives across DRMP’s parent organization.

This individual will need to be able to lead through influence, effect positive change, and promote accountability, doing so with compassion and care. This individual will be a natural leader and collaborator that can communicate effectively up and down the organization, building relationships of trust, delivering on their promises, and holding themselves to the highest ethical standard.

This is an in person position based in Orlando that will require regular travel to DRMP offices and job sites, primarily within the Florida footprint, but may also include periodic travel to the teams based in North Carolina.

This role will report directly to the DRMP President.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include


Compliance
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, inspections, and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations
  • Maintain corporate profile with third party vetting programs

Training and Team Education
  • Organize safety training and onboarding for all employees including conducting first day safety orientation
  • Provide guidance to employees on a variety of health & safety related topics
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and EHS audits and provide ‘lessons learned’ to encourage continued focus on prevention
  • Provide and coordinate employee training programs

Partnership with Field Staff & Job Visits

  • Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and EHS audits and provide ‘lessons learned’ to encourage continued focus on prevention
  • Partner closely with leadership across the Construction Inspection and Survey teams to learn their business and help collaborate to identify and address safety gaps and improve the overall safety culture
Incident Investigations
  • Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Coordinate with Regional Executive and Corporate EHS Director on all incidents
  • Collaborate with HR to manage workers’ compensation cases and return-to-work programs
Knowledge Sharing
  • Keep up to date with new regulations and industry best practices; bringing recommendations to Executive Leadership Team during regular roundtables
  • Create and promote programs supporting employee participation in our safety culture and continuous improvement
  • Prepare incident alerts
  • Analyze event trends and prepare summaries of findings for management

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Professional experience working independently to manage health & safety function in a mid-size to large organization
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and EHS regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and training abilities
  • Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHST are highly desirable
  • Effective communicator both through oral presentations and written communications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of policy and HASP development
