As the Survey Office Leader for DRMP’s Boca Raton office, you will be responsible for the strategic growth, operational management, and technical excellence of the Geomatics division in the South Florida region. You will lead Transportation, Land Development, and Construction-related projects while managing the full lifecycle of project production, department staffing, and client coordination. This role is designed for a leader who can balance high-level Business Development and marketing pursuits with the mentorship and technical oversight of a multi-disciplinary survey team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Providing guidance to office and field personnel; conducting yearly performance evaluations for Project Managers, Field Coordinators, and technicians.
  • Business Development: Leading marketing pursuits for public and private sector clients; establishing a diverse client base and maintaining a healthy project backlog.
  • Operational Management: Assisting with business planning and budgeting; reviewing and submitting client invoices; and managing department timesheets and staffing levels.
  • Project Oversight: Preparing and approving scopes, fees, staff-hour estimates, and proposals; ensuring all projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Technical Quality Control: Performing field reviews and QA/QC checks to ensure all work meets or exceeds professional standards of practice and contractual obligations.
  • CADD & Production: Assisting staff with technical development; overseeing the preparation of legal descriptions and CADD drawings (MicroStation/Civil 3D).
  • Industry Engagement: Representing DRMP within professional societies (ACEC, ASHE, FSMS) and attending industry events to expand the firm's marketing network.


What you'll need

  • Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) in the State of Florida.
  • Proven Leadership Experience: A successful history of project management and leading a survey department or office.
  • Business Acumen: Experience in preparing staff-hour estimates, proposals, and managing project budgets/P&L.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of CADD systems including MicroStation ORD, GEOPAK, and Civil 3D.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client-facing meetings and internal team coordination.
  • Valid driver’s license with an approved/acceptable driving history.
