Position Summary:
  • Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support the planning, policy analysis, assessment, and decision-making of the College.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Track TSCC students through their academic program of study into job placement.
  • Conduct institutional and educational research projects, including conceptualization of research design, planning, data analysis, interpretation and assessments of results, and the preparation of the final written report.
  • Prepare and design surveys for electronic distribution; analyze, describe, and summarize the results from such surveys for the College.
  • Compose data using graphic and tabular formats that aid in the understanding of information contained in reports.
  • Present research findings to board members, administrators, faculty, and staff.
  • Design and provide studies related to institutional assessment such as graduate employment, transfer outcomes, and alumni opinion.
  • Gather and analyze data for ad-hoc requests.
  • Establish effective working relationships with other College offices in order to understand and fulfill their research needs.
  • Prepare internal summaries and reports from College data sources as well as national, state, and local data sources (such as IPEDS, and Ohio HEI).
  • Write programs in Crystal Reports and SQL Reporting Services to access information stored in Student Information Systems.
  • Perform statistical analysis using software such as SPSS, Microsoft Power BI, and Power Platform.
  • Use statistical expertise in the analysis of data to ensure valid conclusions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, psychology, or sociology with training in statistical analysis, research methods, and quantitative research beyond introductory courses or related field.
  • Preferred
    • Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, psychology, or sociology, or related field
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with statistical software packages
  • Experience with institutional research methods and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in higher education, or secondary education.
  • Experience as an EMIS Coordinator.
