Position Summary:

Provides assistance to the Human Resources department, serving as the office administrative support by completing clerical and administrative business details as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates written, oral, and electronic communication for the Director of Human Resources and other Human Resources staff and distributes to College constituents as directed.
  • Assists with accurately performing data entry, including onboarding data, employee deductions, and reporting new hires to the Ohio New Hire system, SERS, and STRS.
  • Tracks all part-time employee hours to ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act. Reports any concerns to the Director of Human Resources. Works with Human Resources staff to ensure compliance with FLSA regulations.
  • Responsible for completing outside requests such as Unemployment claims, Employment verifications, and assisting with annual surveys, etc.
  • Maintains the records retention duties involving disposing of outdated files in a timely manner.
  • Performs administrative office responsibilities including scheduling appointments and meetings; copying and distributing material; creating and maintaining files.
  • Assists with the recruiting and onboarding processes involving creating job postings, processing new hire information, and creating employee ID badges.
  • Provides support to Human Resources staff’s calendars and appointments by gathering and organizing all relevant information in preparation for meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
