Position: Recycling Plant Sorter

Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Starting Pay $16.00 with overtime

Job Description

We are seeking hardworking and dependable individuals to join our team as Recycling Plant Sorters. This is a physically demanding position in a busy, dusty recycling facility where safety, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Sort recyclable materials by hand as they move along a conveyor belt.
• Shovel recycling debris into large buckets and lift and empty buckets weighing up to 15 lbs. onto the conveyor.
• Feed and remove materials from conveyor belts while working on elevated catwalks approximately 10–12 feet high, equipped with handrails.
• Maintain awareness of rail cars, cranes, forklifts, skid steers, and other moving equipment.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, lifting, and physical labor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to work in a very dusty and dirty recycling plant environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to bend, lift, shovel, and sort materials throughout the shift.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Dependable attendance and a willingness to follow company policies.
• Ability to work on elevated catwalks with appropriate safety precautions.

Safety Requirements

• Safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, and safety vest are provided.
• Employees are responsible for maintaining and not losing their assigned safety equipment.
• All employees must watch a safety video at our office.
• Employees must sign the company’s no-cell-phone/electronic-equipment agreement and attendance policy.

Compensation

• Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
• Pay increases are based on performance after hire.
