Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing precise welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks on various metal materials, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. The successful candidate will play a vital role in constructing, repairing, and assembling components for diverse projects, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities

  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately guide welding and assembly processes.
  • Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
  • Measure and mark metal materials using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and fits.
  • Operate power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment for cutting, shaping, and preparing sheet metal and other metal materials.
  • Fabricate components by cutting, welding, assembling, and finishing sheet metal and mechanical parts with attention to quality and safety protocols.
  • Use hand tools and fabrication equipment to assemble structures or machinery on construction sites or within the shop environment.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper handling of welding gases, power tools, and heavy machinery.
  • Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and execute fabrication tasks efficiently.
  • Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments to verify dimensions align with specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for productivity and safety.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with construction site operations involving metal fabrication and welding activities.
  • Proficiency in multiple welding techniques: MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW; familiarity with welding standards preferred.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
  • Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes including machining, plasma cutting, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and plasma cutters.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings effectively for accurate fabrication and assembly.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks.
  • Experience working within AWS standards for welding quality assurance.
  • Strong mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with practical fabrication shop experience.
  • Ability to operate measuring instruments accurately during assembly processes.
