Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for a 6-month contract assignment supporting plant operations. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with maintenance planning, CMMS systems, preventive maintenance programs, and cross-functional coordination in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities to support safe and reliable plant operations.
  • Prioritize maintenance work based on equipment criticality, operational needs, and available resources.
  • Develop short- and long-term maintenance schedules, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage maintenance work order backlog and ensure timely execution of planned work.
  • Create and maintain detailed job plans, task procedures, and work packages.
  • Support spare parts planning, inventory optimization, and materials coordination for maintenance activities.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance compliance and completion metrics.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records and data within the CMMS.
  • Generate maintenance reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead planning activities for plant turnarounds, outages, and major maintenance projects.
  • Serve as a key user and administrator of the CMMS (SAP PM experience preferred).
  • Promote and support safe work practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications/Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical education in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, industrial, fabrication, or related environments.
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance work in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
  • Experience developing maintenance job plans, work packages, and preventive maintenance programs preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS systems; SAP PM experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Work Schedule
