Description

  • The Electrical Engineer has the authority and primary responsibility to provide dynamic investigation, leadership, direction and resources to resolve process problems in cooperation with manufacturing supervision, making certain activities conform to management’s objectives and department policies.
  • Assures application of sound engineering principles for research/development and the design, construction and testing of modifications and projects including but not limited to areas of mechanical, electrical and ergonomic.
  • Provides updated electrical circuit designs that follow the guidelines set by the NEC during machine or building electrical rebuilds or updates. During a change of process or update to equipment, the Electrical Engineer will produce the electrical schematic in CAD and PLC ladder logic programming as necessary for the functionality of the machine.
  • Assist the safety department with electrical machine safeguarding techniques that conform to OSHA guidelines and safety hazard prevention through design.
  • Supports the organization’s commitment to ensure that our food safety and quality plans conform to all regulatory requirements and with food quality and the safety requirements of our customers and reports any problems or penitential problems observed concerning food safety and quality to Supervision immediately.
  • Receives requests from internal customers and provides feedback to VP-Operations, Manufacturing Engineer, internal customers and computer maintenance management system.
  • Develops a high proactive focus on the manufacturing process in cooperation with manufacturing supervision.
  • Improves the working relationship between internal customers and Process Engineering built on trust and reliability.
  • Utilizes sound engineering methods to reduce maintenance expenses without sacrificing operational results or increased down time.
  • Requisitions all materials necessary to complete assigned projects including obtaining proposal and expediting purchases when necessary.
  • Coordinates work force requirements and time frames with Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervision as necessary.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance to designs, material specifications, information sources, testing procedures, etc.
  • Performs project analysis and justification, manages preparation of designs, specifications, and analysis and recommends new equipment or modifications to existing equipment for presentation and approval.
  • Keeps well informed on new developments through contacts with educational institutions, professional societies and organizations and through technical papers, journals, periodicals and vendors.
  • Provides liaison as may be required to obtain information, services, materials, etc., necessary to projects assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Engineering & VP-Engineering & Facilities.
  • Design and modify electrical systems for manufacturing or industrial processes, ensuring they align with process requirements.
  • Integrate automation, control systems, and instrumentation into production lines to optimize operations.
  • Develop and update equipment layouts that incorporate electrical components.
  • Supervises assigned employees and outside vendors (contractors) on projects and repairs providing direction and assistance as necessary to assure efficient fulfillment of responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Good vision, color vision, hearing, speaking ability and finger dexterity. Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, reach, pull, use of personal computer, lift and/or carry up to approximately 50 lbs. Ability to read, write, follow instructions, perform mathematical calculations, record/report information and draw conclusions from a visual and/or physical inspection of assigned tasks. Personal computer, printer, fax machine, copy/duplicating equipment, and various office hand tools.
