Distribution Manager – Toledo OH
Sofo Foods is currently looking to expand warehouse operations by bringing on a Distribution Manager. This role will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership of the distribution center and functional excellence support for the divisional facilities. This position will ensure product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment operations by optimizing resources and processes while achieving key safety, quality, cost, and engagement performance.
The Distribution Manager will drive the operation, development, and implementation of key processes to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. By using continual process improvement tools (such as Lean and Six Sigma), the Distribution Manager will lead team member initiatives to create and promote an environment of involvement, empowerment, and commitment to the company's success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of supervisors, and associates to ensure timely distribution of product within the company’s standards.
- Lead common vision and an understanding of the organization’s strategy, as well as enhancing associate commitment and acknowledgement individual and group achievements.
- Ensure the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing facilities, team members, equipment, and profitably. Implements warehouse operations to meet productivity and service goals.
- Direct the operations of the warehouse team to achieve prescribed objectives. Applies sound communication and motivational techniques, and creates programs to supervise, counsel, and discipline subordinates.
- Ensure warehouse information systems meets company objectives and facilitate the efficient operations of the warehouse. Knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology.
- Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
- Develops suitable programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, and safety.
Qualifications & Essential Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree – preferred or minimum of five (5) years of managing distribution operations experience.
- Minimum three (3) years distribution center supervisory experience.
- Good working knowledge of distribution center practices and procedures.
- Strong leadership, administrative, organizational, managerial, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability to gather and interpret information and develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Independent decision-making and creative problem-solving skills, good judgement with the ability to accept personal and departmental accountability for areas of responsibility.
- PC skills to include Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access); Working knowledge of WMS Systems, such as Manhattan, or Red Prairie.
- Must be flexible to work various shifts based on business needs. Primary schedule will be evenings, Sunday – Thursday.
