Quality Control Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Control Coordinator to oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control within our cheese conversion plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and a passion for ensuring product excellence.

A & M Cheese is a processor and distributor of fine cheeses in the US, and is currently looking for you to fill the role as a Quality Control Coordinator at our Toledo, OH location and become part of our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance programs and procedures.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to identify and address potential quality issues.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety and quality standards, including HACCP and GMP guidelines.
  • Oversee the calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment.
  • Review and approve quality control documentation, such as test results, inspection reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Participate in the Plant Food Safety Committee.
  • Verify compliance and specifications of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues and customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality problems and prevent their recurrence.
  • Stay up to date on food safety regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, ODA and other regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem solving activities.

Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of experience in quality assurance and control within the food industry – preferably cheese manufacturing or processing
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP and GMP
  • Experience with 3rd party audits such as AIB or BRC
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision making skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software
  • PCQI certified or be willing to obtain certification
