The Rudolph Libbe Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to manage and oversee in-house payroll operations for our union and non-union associates. This ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and have experience in payroll processing in a unionized environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee payroll processing for four companies, ensuring timely and accurate payments to associates.
• Manage payroll for union associates, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, prevailing wage laws, and federal/state regulations.
• Supervise six payroll associates and assist in their development and training.
• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll using in-house payroll systems.
• Review and reconcile payroll reports, timesheets, and wage adjustments.
• Coordinate and handle all payroll deductions, including benefits, taxes, garnishments, and union dues.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management, including labor costs, overtime, and project-specific payroll allocations.
• Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations, including union contract stipulations, federal, state, and local laws.
• Respond to payroll inquiries from associates, resolving any discrepancies or concerns.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Accounting, and Project Managers to ensure seamless payroll operations.
• Assist with year-end tax reporting and filings (W-2, 1099, etc.).
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all payroll information.
SKILLS
• Strong understanding of union payroll, collective bargaining agreements, and prevailing wage laws.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Experience with multi-company payroll processing.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, including tax laws and wage-hour laws.
• Experience with construction payroll and certified payroll reporting preferred.
• Familiarity with union dues reporting and benefits tracking preferred.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification preferred.
