This position is responsible for loan processing through Workday, state and federal entities to ensure the efficient delivery of financial aid.
Essential Functions:
Analyzes and interprets applicable federal regulations to determine eligibility, award, and originate Federal Direct Loans within timeframes that meet regulatory requirements and service expectations. Posts information to the Workday system and makes necessary adjustments
Returns loan funds and makes appropriate adjustments to loans, within regulatory timeframes, due to withdrawals, overawards, ineligibility, student requirements, etc.
Reviews overawards, determines appropriate corrective action, and makes adjustments to awards as needed.
Awards and certifies state and alternative loans. Includes posting information to the Workday system and online student loan systems, communicating with the state and alternative loan lenders and guarantors, and making necessary adjustments.
Reviews and processes documentation regarding loan-related eligibility issues, including defaulted loans and borrowing limits.
Complete daily reports as assigned.
Monitors loan-related processes and resolves issues regarding loans. Includes responding to inquiries from staff in person, by instant message, by phone, or via email.
Inputs documents related to student loans into Workday.
Assists Student Financial Services regarding student loan inquiries.
Provides input regarding policies and procedures related to loan processing.
Assists, as necessary, with students applying for financial aid and other areas of customer service.
Enters data from exit counseling and reports the results to NSLDS.
Processes and responds to requests and reports from servicers and guarantee agencies.
Corresponds with students regarding loan-related issues.
Keeps informed of current federal regulations regarding Federal Direct Loans in order to maintain compliance with regulations
Determines, reviews, returns, and certifies alternative and federal loans.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.
Knowledge of Workday, Microsoft Office suite, email, and math.
Knowledge of office procedures
Accuracy in dealing with numbers and data entry.
Computer skills (such as using a database to enter, view, and interpret data; MS Office, especially Word and Excel).
Good communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks.
Ability to analyze situations and determine an appropriate course of action.

In order to perform job duties, this position requires access to U.S. Department of Education systems. Thus, successful candidate may not be in default on Title IV aid or barred from access to any systems by the U.S. Department of Education.
