Has knowledge and background in the sport of volleyball.
Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the
collegiate sports program.
Teaches sports techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics.
Supervises and conducts practices and contests safely, supervising locker rooms and buses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations.
Demonstrate good volleyball skills to team.
Well developed oral communication skills.
Effective supervisory techniques.
Ability to recruit players, schedule games, coordinate fundraisers, and market and promote the intercollegiate volleyball program.
Work effectively with players and other coaches.
The ability to instruct the athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
Carry out in a positive way he philosophy and objective of the sport.
Instills in each player a respect for equipment and college property, its care and proper use.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Previous coaching experience in volleyball at the high school/and or club level.
Collegiate level coaching experience is preferred.
Must have an acceptable criminal background check through BCII.

Minimum Expectations:

The Assistant Coach is required to travel with the Volleyball Team to all away games in Ohio and Michigan up to and including a 200 mile radius throughout the season (July through November).
Must attend all practices and games. Extended hours based on game location. Late evening hours, especially on away games.
