Earn & Learn Success Coach

Job Description:

The Earn & Learn Success Coach will oversee and support Owens Community College’s Earn & Learn program in alignment with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Strengthening Community Colleges grant. This role combines student success coaching with program coordination, ensuring that participating students receive comprehensive academic, personal, and professional support while maintaining compliance with grant requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide proactive academic, personal, and career support to Earn & Learn students.

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate the Earn & Learn Program in alignment with U.S. DOL Strengthening Community Colleges grant objectives.

  • Maintain student attendance, academic performance, and program records; communicate updates with sponsoring companies.

  • Collect and analyze enrollment and student success data for grant compliance and reporting.

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure student success and program alignment with industry needs.

  • Instruct up to 3 credit hours per term, as needed.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with sponsor companies, regional schools, and community organizations.

  • Represent the program at recruiting events and community engagements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of student success strategies, academic advising, and workforce readiness practices.

  • Ability to develop and deliver workshops on professionalism, financial literacy, and academic preparedness.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to oversee program operations and compliance.

  • Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and communication skills for engaging diverse students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to handle confidential student and program data with integrity.

  • Proficiency with technology systems, including student information systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in engineering technology, Skilled Trades, or related field (bachelor’s degree preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience in student success coaching, academic advising, workforce development, or a related field.

  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively across academic and administrative departments.
