FWS - Assistant Digital Publisher at Owens OutComm Student Media Center Toledo (Federal Work-Study)

Job Description:

** This position is open exclusively to current Students at Owens Community College who are eligible for Federal Work-Study.

Responsible for assigning and/or writing digital content, managing completion of staff assignments, helping with creation/design of digital materials used by and to promote OOSMC on the Web, social media platforms and videos. Must have an understanding and enforce OOSMC branding standards and be responsible for content maintenance and updating digital content for the OOSCM web site pages.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of basic photography.

  • Understanding of social media.

  • Understanding of Adobe, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Photoshop,

  • Lightroom, InDesign, Wordpress and Elementor.

  • Familiar with College.

  • Written and verbal communications.

  • Computer skills.

  • Willingness to learn new programs.

  • Demonstrate proven ability to display initiative, good judgement and ability to make decisions independently.
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute weekly with written content and/or digital photography to OOSMC website and OOSMC digital platforms.

  • Assist in managing completion of staff assignments, helping with creation/design of digital designs used by and to promote OOSMC on the Web, social medial platforms, and videos.

  • Assist in training OOSMC staff in implementation of OOSMC policies and procedures.

  • Attend meetings as needed.

  • Actively assist in OOSMC promotional projects.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
