Manager, Testing Center Services

Job Description:

Supervises the daily operations of the Testing Centers on all campuses. Coordinate all campus testing services: ACCUPLACER Placement testing; Make-up testing for Faculty; Distant Education testing for Non-OCC students; Accommodated testing; Certification testing (Pearson Vue, Castle Worldwide , CLEP, etc.). Manages the operational budget of Testing Services.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate all campus testing services: ACCUPLACER Placement Test; Make-up testing for Faculty; Distant Education Testing for Non-OCC students; Accommodated Testing; Certification testing (Pearson Vue, CLEP, etc.)

  • Coordinate quality control for all incoming and outgoing tests, including academic testing, ACT - National and Residual, proficiency tests and other special interest group testing.

  • Maintain the correct course placement scores for ACCUPLACER Placement testing. Work with College Board to become educated on how to set ACCUPLACER scores and review this information with Deans of the college.

  • Provide strong customer service to prospective, current and non-Owens students in a professional environment.

  • Supervises and manages the testing center staff, including hiring, motivating staff, developing appropriate training activities, and prioritizing activities.

  • Demonstrates strong collaboration with College colleagues including Admissions, Advising, Records, Oserve, Academic Services, academic departments and faculty.

  • Plans and manages the operational budget of the Testing Center.

  • Provides excellent external customer service and serves as a key contact to various outside agencies, including ACT, high schools and other colleges in relation to testing services.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of "Testing Environments". Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the National College Testing Association and Owens Community College.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and a proven record of confident leadership are desired.

  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and collaboratively.

  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills; including ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative professional relationships with staff and faculty colleagues.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.

  • Successful candidate will have a record of successful leadership and customer service.

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree or two-year technical certificate

  • Three to five years' experience in higher education.

  • One to three years demonstrated customer service.

  • Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in testing center

Minimum Expectations:

  • While not on call 24/7, this position does require accessibility during off hours in cases of emergency.

  • Regular business travel to Findlay and other off site locations where testing services are offered.

Monday - Thursday, 8am-5pm .
Friday 8am-4:30pm.
Occasional late nights and weekends, depending on the needs of the office.

Hiring Range:

$45,792.00-$51,462.00
