Teaching faculty at Owens Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationship with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. The applicant will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college. This position requires teaching undergraduates, and applicants must provide evidence of teaching potential specifically in the discipline of Medical Imaging.

Essential Functions:

Per Article 7.0 in the OFA contract

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of and experience in radiography imaging procedures and protocols, patient care, and clinical practice.
Knowledge of the radiography program goals.
Knowledge of the ASRT curriculum in radiography.
Knowledge of the ARRT content specifications for the radiography credentialing examination.
Knowledge of the ARRT clinical experience requirements for certification.
Perform computer functions to make use of Blackboard, prepare PowerPoint presentations, and use the internet to supplement instruction.
Evaluate radiography images using acceptance criteria and identify anatomical structures and pathology.
Utilize appropriate communication skill to present course content in an organized and understandable manner.
Organize course content and develop appropriate student learning objectives, assignments and evaluation measures.
Has the ability to perform radiographic procedures with expertise while providing excellent patient care.
Manages required continuing education by employing self-assessment measures and engaging in professional activities to address areas identified as needing improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in education, science or a health-related discipline.
Two plus years full time experience in radiography.
One plus year's experience in education.
