** This position is open exclusively to current Students at Owens Community College who are eligible for Student Employment and / or Federal Work-Study.

Assist Librarians in routine daily tasks such as greeting patrons, check-out/in resources, interlibrary lending, answering telephone, and answering general information questions.

Minimum level of education needed to satisfactorily perform duties: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Essential Functions:

· Provide staffing for the circulation desk

· Greet visitors and answer telephones

· Answer questions and provide information

· Check materials in and out for library users

· Shelve materials in all areas of the library

· Read shelves periodically to maintain order

· Assist with circulation duties

· Assist Librarians with projects

Additional Information:

Library Assistants may rotate periodic shifts in addition to their regular shifts. Candidates should be available to work some evenings until 8:00 p.m. and some Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
