Advertised Position Title:
Instructor, Advanced Manufacturing
Teaching faculty at Owens Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationship with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. The applicant will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college. This position requires teaching undergraduates, and applicants must provide evidence of teaching potential specifically in the discipline of Advanced Manufacturing.
Essential Functions:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of CAD and CAM software, including but not limited to AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, and Fusion 360.
- Knowledgeable of advanced manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and practices in manufacturing and engineering.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Awareness of current trends and advancements in advanced manufacturing and related fields.
- Proficiency in using and teaching CAD, CAM, SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
- Strong instructional skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry needs and standards.
- Skilled in using various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records and managing classroom activities.
- Ability to engage and inspire students to achieve their educational and career goals.

Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of industry experience in advanced manufacturing, including experience with CAD, CAM, SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
- Teaching or training experience, preferably at the post-secondary level or in a corporate setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of industry experience in advanced manufacturing.
- Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
- Certification in relevant CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD Certified Professional, SolidWorks Certified Professional).
- Experience working with industry advisory committees or business and industry leadership teams.
