Advertised Position Title:
Bus Driver/Custodian (First Shift)
Essential Functions:
Perform thorough cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting throughout assigned area and assigned hours.
Ensure that assigned areas are properly maintained; burned out light bulbs are replaced, restrooms are cleaned and stocked with towels and tissue, and facilities in need or repair are reported.
Provide minor maintenance repair as needed during shift.
Move furniture, set up chairs and equipment for special events.
Pick up trash by emptying wastebaskets and taking refuse to assigned outside work area. Does light lifting.
Clean windows and remove soil from walls, furniture, and office equipment.
Perform seasonal duties (i.e. snow removal and salting)
In additional to driving the Shuttle bus as needed, provides necessary transportation during shift (i.e. mail runs, bus runs, and for special events), as requested.
Possess a valid drivers license and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Basic knowledge of custodial processes and procedures.
Basic knowledge of laws concerning the driving of passengers.
Ability to properly operate custodial equipment including but not limited to floor buffer, walk behind scrubber, carpet extractor, mop and bucket.
Ability to take and understand verbal instructions.
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and drive passengers in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to work independently and be able to maintain good rapport with constituents and co-workers.
Ability to handle a number of different tasks in an organized fashion.
Ability to follow bus schedules and routes as directed.
Team-oriented and professional in approach to detail-oriented tasks.
Minimum Education/Experience:
One year experience driving a bus.
One year related experience in custodial cleaning and equipment in a commercial environment.
Possess a valid drivers license with CDL with passenger endorsement and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.
