Maintains knowledge of current imaging practices in Vascular Sonography. Is knowledgeable of program goals. Understands the lab objectives and evaluation system.
Maintains competency in the professional discipline and instructional and evaluative techniques through continuing professional development. Demonstrates effective, positive communication with students, co-workers, supervisors, and others.
Monitors compliance of program procedures and provides correction to students if non-compliant according to the guidelines set forth in the Medical Imaging Department Procedure Manual.

Essential Functions:

Encourage student participation. Provide students with understandable answers to their questions. Appears confident and enthusiastic about the subject matter.
Thoroughly reviews the scanning assignments / images and gives comments. Provides and supervises students “hands-on” experience. Reinforces material as presented in sonography lab manuals.
Monitors the lab facilities to ensure student compliance with department procedures. Communicates with lab instructors and the Program Director as necessary.

Promotes high morale among students by fair and equitable treatment. Promotes and instills the Sonography Code of Ethics.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Associate degree or two-year technical certificate
ARDMS or CCI credential in Vascular Sonography
Documents the equivalent of one-year full time clinical experience in vascular sonography.
