Job Description

Owens-Illinois General, Inc. seeks in Perrysburg, Ohio, in a glass manufacturing plant, to provide technical assistance on a diverse range of parameters in the refiners, forehearths, and feeders.

Responsibilities:

Make inspections of the refiners, forehearths, and feeders and the associated refractory equipment.
Work closely with Forming and Furnace department, recommending changes in operational setups.
Design work related to new working end layouts and equipment for major repairs and/or upgrades to licensee, Joint Venture, and O-I plants.
Mentor junior team members and plant personnel in glass conditioning and glass quality troubleshooting aspects related to the forehearth operations.

Qualifications

Must have Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
5 years of experience in a glass manufacturing plant. The 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with forehearth, glass forming, and furnace operations. All experience may be acquired concurrently.
Domestic travel up to 60% and international travel up to 10% required, to be reimbursed by employer.

The expected salary for this position is $113,873.00 – $122,980.00 per year.
