DAY IN THE LIFE

As a Quality Control Inspector / QAQC Technician, your day is spent actively supporting quality assurance and quality control activities on industrial construction and fabrication projects. You will perform inspections of welding, piping, mechanical systems, structural components, and fabrication work to verify compliance with project specifications, customer requirements, quality procedures, and applicable industry codes. Throughout the day, you will review drawings, specifications, inspection test plans, and project documentation, while working closely with project managers, craft personnel, subcontractors, customers, and third-party inspectors. You will identify and document nonconforming work, assist with corrective actions, verify material traceability, participate in audits and testing activities, and maintain accurate inspection records and turnover documentation. Success in this role requires sound judgment, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to support project quality objectives that contribute directly to safe, efficient, and successful project completion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in industrial construction, fabrication, mechanical construction, or QA/QC inspection.
  • Knowledge of industrial construction practices and quality inspection methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and related project documents.
  • Ability to complete inspection reports, quality documentation, and project records accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem identification capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field-based construction environments.
