NOOTER is seeking a Project Engineer Intern who is interested in gaining hands-on experience supporting field construction projects in an industrial environment. The internship provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced project managers, engineers, and field teams while developing real-world skills in project coordination, construction management, safety, and cost control.

This role is designed to help students learn how construction projects are planned, executed, and delivered. The Project Engineer Intern will assist the Project Management Team in supporting project execution while learning company processes, industry standards, and best practices.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Project Management Team with planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities to help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Support communication between the office and jobsite by helping share drawings, schedules documents, and other project information.
  • Learn and utilize CIC Management System while supporting company and industry standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Assist with tracking project performance, including budgets, costs, and basic forecasting, using company systems and software.
  • Participate in project meetings, safety activities, and lessons learned sessions to gain exposure to construction operations and safety practices.

Position Qualification Requirements

Knowledge: Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

Prior internship, co-op, or coursework related to construction or engineering is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required. Exposure to software such as Primavera, AutoCAD, modeling tools, Bluebeam, or Procore (or similar) is a plus. Willingness to learn new software and construction processes with company-provided training is required.
