Surgical Services Inventory Technician - St. Rita's Medical Center

Summary
The Surgical Services Inventory Technician is responsible for picking of the surgical cases via a case cart system and utilization of
the Pyxis system. They are also responsible for the supply management of the Pyxis systems relating to both debiting and crediting
of materials. This position requires a blend of skills and experience that are focused on the management of supplies. Surgery is a
fast paced environment. Functions as a member of the surgical services team by providing support and functioning as a resource.
Will accurately and completely pull supplies and instruments for cases as well as put away incoming stock and return used supplies
to the Pyxis accurately.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Surgical Services Inventory Technician is responsible for assisting with inventory management of the OR Pyxis cabinets. This
would include both the procurement of items for picking case carts as well as crediting the patient for all returned items.
Ensures all incoming inventory is properly identified and is put away in the correct locations and on a timely basis.
Oversee inventory and assist with checking for outdated or soon to expire products[rotation of inventory] and reports it to surgical
services materials Supervisor.
Will be responsible to pick case carts, resupplying of OR suites, all surgery inventory locations including storerooms, crediting of
unused surgical supplies and other duties as assigned.
Must be able to learn, demonstrate and practice aseptic technique.
Ensures accuracy of inventories kept in Pyxis.
Data collection for statistics,
Flexibility in work hours to accommodate OR volumes
Adheres to safety and infection control policies of the department and SRMC.
Adheres to rules of confidentiality and patients right to privacy.
Recognizes and reports safety issues to charge personnel.
Able to demonstrate Core Values to patients and coworkers.

High School Diploma or GED Required
