Primary Function/General Purpose of Position - The Audio-Visual Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing all audiovisual and digital media needs for meetings, conferences, and organizational events. This role ensures the seamless setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audio, video, and presentation equipment; coordinates and produces high-quality video recordings and photography; and programs and maintains digital signage content. The specialist collaborates with event organizers and stakeholders to deliver professional, reliable, and engaging multimedia experiences while maintaining equipment, managing technical logistics, and ensuring events run smoothly from setup through breakdown.

Essential Job Functions -

  • Provide comprehensive audiovisual support for meetings, conferences, and leadership forums, including setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment.
  • Support employee and guest laptops to ensure seamless presentation connectivity.
  • Furnish and operate portable PA systems across regional hospital locations.
  • Operate and manage auditorium booth systems controlling audio and video for multiple conference rooms.
  • Record educational lectures and special events for internal use and online platforms.
  • Create and edit educational and promotional videos.
  • Capture and edit professional photography for physicians, providers, residents, associates, and special events.
  • Utilize studio lighting, wireless flash systems, and photoshop software to produce and retouch high-quality portraits and images.
  • Program and maintain digital signage systems to display daily conference schedules and organizational messaging.
  • Maintain proficiency with evolving audiovisual technologies, various software systems and broadcast technology, including camera and microphone programming.

High School Diploma or GED (required)

Completion of vocational training program in Audiovisual Technology, Broadcast Engineering, Sound Technology, Information Technology or Media Tech Program OR equivalent job experience (at least two years) in Audiovisual Technology, Broadcast Engineering, Sound Technology, Information Technology or Media Technology in lieu of formal education/training program (required)

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Educational Media or other related field (preferred)

Work Experience

2 years of experience in audiovisual, educational media, IT or related job experience (required)

5 years of experience in audiovisual, educational media, IT or related job experience (preferred)
