SUMMARY :

Under the direct supervision of the Radiation Oncologist and the Clinical Manager and/or Sr. Therapist, the Radiation Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care using ionizing radiation supplied and controlled in radiation therapy equipment. Provides care to neonate through geriatric patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and practices. Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Graduate of AMA approved school which meets ARRT Standards.
  • License state of Ohio in Radiation Therapy. ARRT certified.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits skills and knowledge of current radiation therapy techniques, equipment and practice regarding ACR standards for Radiation Oncology.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients under severe physical and emotional stress.
  • CPR trained.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Works in an environment where there are some exposures to biohazardous materials.
  • Participates in nuclear regulatory commission personnel monitoring program. Potential exposure to ionizing radiation.
  • Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients.
