Academic Coordinator – Mercy College

Job Summary:

The Academic Coordinator is a full-time member of the Higher Education Institution (HEI). The Academic Coordinator supports program leadership, faculty, and students in areas such as documentation, communication, scheduling, and planning/assisting multiple events throughout the year. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced academic environment.

Essential Functions:

  • In collaboration with the program administration and faculty, the Academic Coordinator has an integral role to support administration, faculty, and students as the first point of contact for the Program. The Academic Coordinator will collect, onboard, and maintain documents for the program, clinical sites and students, schedule and coordinate multiple events throughout the year, provide budget and financial management, and accreditation and compliance support.

  • In collaboration with the program administration and faculty, assists in scheduling and coordinating meetings, student examinations, candidate interviews, and clinical site schedules.

  • Works with program administration, students, other faculty, and the registrar to ensure appropriate coordination and scheduling of didactic and simulation aspects of the Program.

  • Assists with maintenance of accreditation and compliance documents for the program, as well as document preparation and submissions for program reviews, accreditation, and audits.

  • Participates in college and division committees.

  • Provides clinical documents and expectations for each clinical site for the Program.

  • Assists in analyzing and compiling data necessary for program evaluation and accreditation.

  • Collaborates and assists faculty teaching support courses and other support services to ensure quality student outcomes.

  • Collaborates with Program administration and faculty to support student recruitment, admissions, and advising.

  • Responsible for assisting in reviewing and updating student and clinical handbook and policies contained within.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field (required).

Masters, Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration (preferred).

Licensure/Certification:

None

Experience:

2 years of leadership, administrative, budgeting experience (required)

3 years of leadership, administrative, budgeting experience (preferred)
