OVERVIEW

Join our team as an OT Engineer!

This is a hybrid role based out of our Maumee, Ohio office. The position is salaried and includes eligibility for overtime pay.

We are seeking an Entry-Level OT Engineer to join our Manufacturing Systems Infrastructure (MSI) team. This position focuses on OT (Operational Technology) Infrastructure, often described as IT for manufacturing, supporting industrial automation systems in manufacturing environments.

This position includes development of PLC logic or HMI graphics and works closely with Controls and Industrial Systems engineers to support the infrastructure platforms that enable control system automation. This role is well-suited for candidates early in their career who want hands-on experience with industrial networks, computing platforms, and OT system infrastructure under the guidance of experienced engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

OT Network Infrastructure

  • Assist with configuration of OT network equipment using established designs
  • Support VLANs, basic routing, and firewall configurations
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting with guidance from senior engineers

OT Computing Infrastructure

  • Build and configure OT computing systems, including:
    • Virtual machines
    • Engineering and operator workstations
    • Thick and thin HMI clients
    • Remote Desktop or terminal server environments
  • Assist with OT domain and Active Directory–based environments
  • Support backup, monitoring, and basic platform services

OT Application Infrastructure

  • Install and configure OT applications using documented procedures
  • Assist with HMI/SCADA platforms, historians, and SQL Server–based applications
  • Support testing and verification activities

Project & Client Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned tasks as part of larger project teams
  • Follow build documents, checklists, and MSI standards
  • Participate in internal testing, site installation, and commissioning support
  • Work closely with mid-level and senior engineers to learn MSI practices

Documentation & Standards

  • Complete build documentation and test records
  • Update as-built documentation under guidance
  • Follow established MSI standards and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0–2 years of experience in OT, IT, or industrial environments
  • Basic understanding of networking and computing concepts
  • Willingness to work in manufacturing environments
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Internship or co-op experience in industrial or OT environments
  • Exposure to virtualization, networking, or automation systems
  • Interest in OT infrastructure and manufacturing systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds or more.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs.
  • This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to a wide range of known food allergens.

We offer market-competitive compensation for an OT Engineer - Manufacturing Systems Infrastructure with a base range of $69,000 to $90,000 annually, and a total compensation package that includes quarterly bonuses, 401(k) matching, and overtime pay. Salaries are based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
