The AI & Automation Engineer (Agentic AI), reporting to the Director, Cyber Security & AI, is responsible for assisting in the execution of Libbey’s enterprise AI strategy by designing and delivering AI agents, automation workflows, and AI-powered business solutions across the enterprise (U.S., Canada, Mexico & China). RESPONSIBILITIES Design and build AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning, task execution, and tool usageDevelop AI-driven automation workflows integrated with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and DynamicsPrototype, test, and deploy LLM-based solutions using prompt engineering and structured reasoningTranslate Libbey’s AI strategy into practical, scalable solutionsIdentify areas for AI or automationEngage with business partners across functions to understand processes, challenges, and opportunities suitable for AI and automation solutionsTranslate business needs and operational processes into actionable AI and automation use casesCollaborate with IT, Security, and business stakeholders to identify high-value AI use casesUnderstand data structures, content organization, and metadata requirements necessary to enable effective and accurate AI and automation solutionsCollaborate with data owners and business stakeholders to ensure data, metadata, and structures are suitable for AI-driven use casesIntegrate AI solutions with APIs, data sources, and automation platformsDocument AI workflows, architectures, and lessons learnedSupport AI governance, security, and responsible AI practicesParticipate in AI training, demos, and internal enablement effortsContinuously evaluate emerging AI tools, agent frameworks, and automation capabilities REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field requiredApproximately 1 year of hands-on experience building AI agents, AI-powered workflows, or automationsDemonstrated experience with LLM-based solutions and agent frameworksFamiliarity with automation platforms, APIs, and enterprise systemsExperience with Enterprise Agentic Design Patterns and FrameworksStrong problem-solving skills and ability to learn rapidly in a fast-evolving AI landscapeStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentSelf-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset LOCATION REQUIREMENTS Occasional work in-office or manufacturing environments; up to 20% on-premise for project based needs Infrequent international travel required (Mexico, China) COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS Take Control: Seek direction and support to achieve mastery of objectivesBe Engaged & Committed: Learn, engage, and contribute consistentlyBe Accountable: Own outcomes and deliver on commitmentsContinuous Improvement Mindset: Act with curiosity and drive efficiency and innovationPlan & Execute: Manage work effectively, setting clear performance expectations and holding yourself and team members accountable for outcomes.
