The Opportunity:
The Director of Financial Accounting and Reporting supports the Accounting team and will ensure and enhance the financial integrity as well as improve effectiveness and efficiency of accounting operations in support of Hylant’s overall growth and profitability objectives.
This position will report into our Toledo, OH office, four days in-office, one day from-home per week.
In This Role You Will Execute On:
- Maintain, manage, and protect the accounting and financial records for Hylant in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Creation of timely and accurate monthly and annual financial reporting for external constituents
- Create, communicate, and maintain an effective internal control environment, including establishment, implementation, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures as well as regular reconciliations and reviews of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Provide mentoring and coaching of staff to support growth and development while effectively delegating certain responsibilities where appropriate
- Create and foster innovative ideas for efficiency in accounting processes
- Participate in and coordination of annual financial statement and 401k audits as well as tax return preparation
- Participation in the acquisition integration team to ensure efficient and effective incorporation into Hylant process, procedures, and financials
- Effective collaboration with multiple disciplines across the company to create best practices, problem-solve, and strong relationships amongst all parties
- Act as a role model for the company by exemplifying core values of integrity, excellence, team, responsibility, and respect.
- Anticipate the needs of the organization and participate in a wide variety of other special projects and tasks
In This Role You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience managing accounting functions for a mid-large sized organization. Public accounting experience preferred
- Full cycle accounting experience through analysis and presentation of financial statements
