Over the course of the interns’ time at Huntington, they gain exposure to key business functions across all segments of the organization. Interns participate in a structured series of development opportunities, including interactions with senior leadership and career pathing insights. The experience also includes immersion in Huntington’s award‑winning culture through community involvement and team‑based activities. Internships at Huntington are designed to help students build a strong foundation for future career success while contributing to meaningful business initiatives.

Internship Opportunities at Huntington:

Huntington offers internship opportunities for students who are currently enrolled in an academic program and seeking practical, hands‑on experience in their field of study. Internships take place during a defined period of time and are available across all business segments.

  • Rising seniors (Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 grads) may participate in the Enterprise Internship Program, an 11-week, role-aligned experience where students work directly with a manager and team on meaningful business initiatives. In addition to hands-on project work, participants gain exposure to executive leadership, participate in Huntington's innovation project, and build connections that may lead to future full-time opportunities.

All interns participate in a variety of developmental and professional activities designed to support learning and exposure to the organization. Depending on your school year, program components may include:

  • Experience in day‑to‑day responsibilities related to their assigned team
  • Exposure to broader business functions
  • A structured schedule of professional development sessions
  • Opportunities to engage with members of the Executive Leadership Team
  • Discussions with senior leaders regarding career paths and Huntington’s business areas
  • A team project focused on applying Huntington’s innovation framework to a business‑relevant problem
  • Participation in volunteer activities and internal events aligned with Huntington’s culture

Regional Banking Internship Overview

Within Huntington's Regional Banking segment, interns gain exposure to how the bank serves businesses and communities through relationship-based banking, lending, treasury management, and financial solutions. Students partner directly with experienced professionals on meaningful projects that support client growth, business development, credit analysis, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives across local markets. Interns may collaborate with teams supporting commercial banking, small business banking, regional leadership, and client relationship management while developing a deeper understanding of how a regional bank drives economic growth. Successful candidates are curious, relationship-oriented, and interested in learning about careers that combine financial expertise with client-focused problem solving.

Opportunities may include exposure to commercial and business banking, credit and financial analysis, treasury management solutions, client relationship management, and regional market strategy. Interns may support projects involving market research, portfolio analysis, business development initiatives, client presentations, process improvement efforts, and data-driven recommendations that help strengthen relationships with businesses and communities throughout Huntington's footprint.

Huntington Regional Banking Internships positions will be in either Atlanta, Georgia; Austin, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; Cleveland, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Macon, Georgia; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School graduate
  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with at least one quarter/semester of school after the completion of the summer program.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice® applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Course(s) of study applicable to the area of business
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions
  • Ability to display a positive business presence with management and external personnel
  • A strong interest in Banking as a career
  • Relevant Majors: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Banking and Financial Services, Management, Marketing, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship or related business disciplines
  • Relevant Coursework: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commercial Banking, Financial Statement Analysis, Business Analytics, Statistics, Risk Management, Strategic Management, Marketing, Sales and Relationship Management, Business Communication, Operations Management, or related coursework.
  • Preferred Skills & Interests: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams. interested in commercial banking, financial analysis, client relationship management, business development, and regional economic growth. Successful candidates demonstrate curiosity, professionalism, attention to detail, and a desire to learn about how financial institutions serve businesses and communities.

Compensation Range:

23.00 hourly

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Colleagues in Intern positions are eligible for paid holidays and Huntington’s retirement savings plan.
